fun times in town

in between traveling and lessons and camps, we're just trying to take it easy, be lazy, and enjoy the warm months here in michigan.  because school will be back in session and winter will be here before we know it!
we've been having fun checking out fun things to do locally...

we joined an athletic club very close to our house.  it's been prefect.  it's a place for us to work out (or think about working out :P), go swimming, and addison has even taken tennis lessons there.  and we run into families from school so it's been great!

 

 we also checked out a little carnival that came through town.  it was small but it was perfect for our roller-coaster-hating kids!  haha, look how torturous it is for them! 

 

 i know i shouldn't laugh at my kids... but someday when they get older they'll laugh too!  hahaha  look at the girl in the sunglasses.  she's hardly phased at all!  :)

another summer event here in town is the Ann Arbor Summer Festival where they have different bands and performances over a period of a couple weeks, i think.  we checked it out a few times.  it was cool and something different to do.

they had a kids tent there where they made superhero masks.  ellie is doing her super ninja move... HI-YA!

  

"we're nice fighters!  hi-ya, hi-ya, hi-ya!"  that's their chant they always do when they play at home.  

and then we checked out a folk-y traveling circus that came through.  i'd have to say this one was not that great.  i was not impressed.   could be because it was hot as hell that day which was not pleasant.  and the actual performace was very lack luster... boring!   oh well. 

 

 and one a different note... addison FINALLY lost her first tooth this summer.  i was really wondering when that little tic-tac of a tooth was going to come out.  but finally it did!  she was thrilled and was even more thrilled when the tooth fairy left her a whole dollar the next morning.  :)
