ballerinas in the making!

so we started ballet at a new studio.  and now that ellie is finally 3, she can take at the same place as addison.  obviously, they are in different classes (levels) and on different days, but after each of their first lessons, they both LOVED it.  that makes me happy since dance was an important part of my life growing up.  this studio that we decided on is much more serious than anything place they have taken before, but i like that.  i think it teaches them discipline, grace, technique, and manners.  for dancers 3-8 yrs old, they wear royal blue leotards and pink tights, not the typical black leotards....which i thought was interesting.  oh well.  i guess after 8 yrs. they wear black. 

  addison was fortunate to have 3 girls in her class from her school.  

so that was so great to see familiar faces! 

ellie's first day of preschool!

so now it was ellie's turn to have her first day of school!  we had 2 orientations last week and the official first day was today.  we have been talking about it for so long.  and she was so anxious to start.  she wants to go to school just like her big sister.  whenever we drop addison off at school she always asks, "when is it MY turn???"  

i was wondering how she would do because her "All By Myself" class last year was only an hour and a half and it was only 1 day a week.  this year she is going to real preschool... it's almost 3 hours and we're going 3 times a week.  and the class size is much bigger.  i had a feeling she'd be okay, but you never know.  what if she all of sudden got clingy and started crying?!

so we baked cookies yesterday for her teachers.  it was just another way for me to get her excited (even though she already was) about going... she would get to give her teachers a "present"!  she was very proud to do that.

and this is how i left her... busy playing with playdoh.  she hardly even said bye to me.  :(  it makes me relieved and sad all at the same time!  my little jr. is growing up!

Addison's first day of school

Addison started 1st grade this week!  I felt like the summer had just flown by, but it was quite the contrary for her!  She felt the summer was long and couldn't wait to get back to school.  I'm grateful that she's so enthusiastic about going to school.  Can't believe my baby is a 1st grader!
