experimenting

i've been just trying to experiment with shooting different objects. i realize that the one lens that i have is pretty limiting as far as wanting to get more creative with distance and close-ups. i guess i need to get more lenses that do different things.. a macro lens or a telephoto lens or even a prime lens... and i probably need to purchase Photoshop to enhance and give my photos that extra "oopmh!". here is what i took today...

i like the backlight and vibrant colors from her scooter. but the wide angle lens makes her look a little distorted.

canon or nikon???

as you can tell from my previous post, i was all excited to buy a new camera... the canon rebel xsi to be exact. well, i went to the store ready to make the big purchase... i had done my research.. i was certain i wanted a canon. i even picked out lenses that i also wanted. i was ready. well, after a couple hours of talking with the sales guy, i somehow ended up walking out with a Nikon D80. after comparing the specs and holding the cameras. i decided that at pretty much the same price point, the nikon was the winner.. for me, at least. anyway, i'm happy with it so far! here are some examples of at my more concentrated effort at trying to take good photos. :)
