addie's new computer

jimmy has been wanting to get addison a new computer for a while now. no, not a new computer for all of us... just for her! and no, not one of those kids toy computers by vtech or something... but a real one! i kept putting it off because my thinking was... why does a 3 year old need a computer??? she should be playing with toys, using her imgination, playing pretend, coloring and drawing, playing outside, etc. plus, i don't want to give her too much of head start on the computer. you hear of all those awful stories about child predators on the internet! soo horrible! but he was so insistent on it. he rather her play on the computer doing learning games than watch tv. and he wanted to have her be familiar with using the mouse and keyboard early on. she does have a computer in her classroom at school and actually i was pretty amazed at how some of the kids were so comfortable on it. so, we finally got one. she got a brand-spanking new 24" iMac. you know, we always talk about not spoiling her.... but i'm afraid by giving such luxuries like this, we are on the road to doing what we totally set out not to do. :( i totally blame this on jimmy. ;) well anyway, after getting it all set up with all the parental controls, she's been enoying it. it took her just a very short matter of time until totally getting a hang of the mouse.

Happy Easter, y'all!

our mall usually puts up really neat displays and structures in the middle for the kids that tie in with the season. for the Easter season, they have a little wooden house, a big tree house thing, a large carpeted area for the kids to run around, and of course, they have the Easter bunny there for pictures. we didn't really go to the mall this morning with the intention of taking a pic with the Easter bunny, but when we got there, we couldn't resist getting up close and personal with the bunny. :) to my surprise, there was already a long line and the stores weren't even officially opened! it's a good thing we got in line when we did because when we were done, the line was going all the way down the hall! what a popular bunny!

gone are the days when addison would sit there and cry and squirm wanting to get off.

she gave us a nice, big, cheesy grin and didn't hesitate for a second to get on the bunny's lap! here is our $10 photo... 100% of the proceeds go towards charity, so that was kind of cool... Happy Easter!
