happy halloween!

happy pumpkin...

we're ready to go to the long awaited halloween party!

for once, we kind of look alike here... or at least we're making the same facial expression.

addison is easily distracted by the tv... :(

so it' s a beautiful fall day and all the leaves are changing color and starting to fall. i love the vibrant colors of fall! every year, i try and take some shots of addison against the beautiful fall backdrop...usually hoping that one of them will turn out decent to use as use our christmas card. this year, we are blessed to have little ellie join us! :) probably not going to use any of these for our christmas card this year, but here just a few from today...

ellie looking... well, less than enthused. haha
maybe because i stuffed her in this bear suit as she was almost about to fall asleep in her swing... sorry, ellie!

ellie is now 12 weeks old. she seems to be doing great... she holds her head up very well and her preferred position seems to be standing (with my assistance, of course) like on my lap or belly. i can tell she is physically strong. and her personality is showing through more and more. she's very smiley and sweet. addison was not really what people would consider an "easy" baby... she cried a lot and LOUD and she wanted to be held most of the time and boy, she was a spitter-upper! but the one thing about addison as a baby was that she was a pretty decent sleeper. usually they say, if your first child is hard, the your second will be easy. well, i don't really think i'd classify ellie as easy either! she doesn't really cry as much unless it's bath time and then she is screaming bloody murder. and she is pretty easy-going and is good about sitting quietly and peacefully in her swing. but unlike addison, she is not really a good sleeper. at 3 months of age, she is no where near consistently sleeping through the night. where as with addison, i believe at this point she was sleeping pretty consistently through. we will have some decent nights with ellie where she will sleep a 6-7 hour stretch. but most nights it's up every 3-4 hours. :( my body is aching because it's so tired. i know we did some sleep training with addison but i can't remember when we started. hmm, i better read my baby books again to refresh myself. so from what i can conclude about our two daughters and their personalities is that they both seem to show lots of emotion... from very smiley and happy... to being fiesty and loud... not really what i would call even-tempered kids. good points and bad points to that i suppose. i should have figured since jimmy and i are both like that. hopefully, our girls won't be too hard on us especially during their teenage years!!

but in the mean time, here's what we're dealing with... :)

here are my kids (minus henry) on a typical sunday.... during football season, this is what it's all about. football is on the tv ALL day. our girls have their Lions jerseys on and jimmy is sitting in front of the tv with his laptop checking his stat tracker for fantasy football ALL day. doesn't matter whether we have a boy or not... he will suck his daughters into his little football world. hehe :)

poor little ellie has no clue what this is all about...
also, notice that addison and jimmy have the exact same smirk on their face!

"what am i wearing???"

"what is this thing in front of me?? it is almost as big as me..."

on a side note, ellie has been pretty good about keeping her head up lately. so i decided to whip out the bumbo chair to see how she'd sit in it. this chair cracks me up. babies look so cute in it! she was doing pretty well at first..

but then her head started to give to one side...

heheh we'll keep working on it!

ahhhh, i've got a moment of peace and quiet... but you know it will only be for a moment. miss addison is at pee wee kickers (soccer) this morning and our other little miss is sleeping in her swing. so i've been catching up online. too bad i can't fall asleep. i definitely want to and need to but for some reason it's really hard for me to take naps. hmm, could it be from the very large cup of coffee and diet coke i've had already so far this morning??? ;)

well, here is what addison is doing at this very moment as i type this....

doing some exercises/games with coach katie...

dribbling the ball...

trying to stop the ball using only her feet.. but she cheats and tries to use her hands!

more dribbling and running...

and some more... go on, work it out, girl!!

and now hopefully, getting VERY tired so that she's take a long nap when she gets home.... ;)

and here is what the other is doing... also working very hard...

fun times!

third eye

i don't know why but i think when babies cry really hard, it's kind of funny and cute and i can't help but laugh. see ellie for example. she makes these faces that are sorta irresistibly cute. she gets all worked up, scrunches up her face and gets this line between her eyes. we call it her third eye. haha! ohh poor baby, it's not all that bad... someday ellie, you too will laugh at these pics. :)

"i don't think i'm very happy..."

"no, not happy at all!...."

"wahhhhhh!....see my third eye!"

"oh, woe is me...."

there's nothing like a good cry...
boy, i have been lagging on my posts! i'm not quite up to speed with my ellie entries as compared to when i was writing about addison and her baby days. sorry, ellie! somehow i'm a bit stretched for time this go around!

but here are a few recent photos...

my girls in their matching dress. thanks to the yun's!

"umm, mommy, stop taking pictures... ellie's crying!"
