bed-wetting
addison has been potty-trained since this past summer. and she has been great about making it to the toilet when she's awake. she rarely, almost never, has accidents during the day. but we are still struggling with night time. she continues to wear pull-ups at night and at naps to prevent wetting her bed. sometimes she keeps them dry and we celebrate, high-five, hug, kiss, do flips (not really)etc. but a lot of the time, we wake up to a soggy pull-up. i know i shouldn't get too worked up about it. she IS just a young 3 year old. but after months of this happening, it's starting to get frustrating for me. why should i care so much? it's not like it's a reflection of my parenting. and i am most certain she doesn't have bodily control over it. she doesn't even know when it happens when i ask her about it. i guess she is sleeping so hard and so soundly that it doesn't even wake her up. :( we've stopped giving her liquids after 6pm and we always go potty before bedtime. i don't know what else to do. the next plan of action (suggested by a friend) was to just let her wear regular underwear at night and wet the bed so that she'll learn that it's not a fun feeling. but that means i have to (God forbid!) get up and change the sheets! this plan is left as a last resort because well, i'm just lazy (especially at like 3 a.m.)! so, in the meantime, i know i shouldn't get upset about it or seem disappointed about it. but it was starting to wear on my patience a little after having discussion after discussion EVERY day about not peeing in her nighttime underwear. hmmm. just another part of parenting. hopefully, it's just a matter of time that she grows out of this... because i don't think they make pull-ups for teenagers! :)
the evidence. soggy city in the trash... :(
