addison is 6!

our big girl turned 6 last week! that just seems so old to me! i can't believe she's getting so big and growing up so fast! i know i say that every year, but it's true! when i hold her, she is so tall and long and lanky! she is like a real BIG girl! she will surely be passing me up in the height department very soon!

this year's theme was fairy. i was a little disappointed in the new bakery i tried this year. i specifically described the kind of cake i wanted over the phone. and i ended up getting something totally different. we didn't have a big party with friends this year because we just moved and we're still settling in and she doesn't have a huge base of friends here yet. so i was really counting on getting a cool cake to make up for it. the cake was very pretty, don't get me wrong. but i was a little bummed that it didn't turn out the way we wanted. :( oh well, i improvised at the last minute and stuck this toy doll fairy in the cake to give it some interest. she liked the doll so it all worked out!

we had cake up at her halmoni and hadabogi's house.

the pajama sets that halmoni got for the girls... with matching nightcap! who knew they still made those!

we went back to our old neighborhood on sunday because ironically addison's best buddy from there, olivia and addison share the same birth date! so her mom and i planned on getting together for them to spend some time together. we met up at Dinosaur Hill nature center. they were having a special event going on with santa and a couple of real reindeer. the girls were so happy to be reunited. they had a blast!

ellie and jakub (olivia's brother) learning about animals at one of the tables.

santa was there. addison told him she wanted a sleeping beauty dress and crown. :)

santa asked ellie what she wanted for christmas. and her reply was, "umm, presents." hahaha

and then we went for a little hike through their trails there. they had pictures of snowmen along the trail that we were supposed to find.

the kids. :)
