ellie's 100th day

i can't believe we've reached the 100 day mark for Ellie. my parents and my sister came for the occasion. i knew this was going to be a pretty casual event... nothing fancy or elaborate or lots of guests or major planning done. but somehow even though it was to be an easy day, nothing seemed to go right. it all kind of started off on the wrong foot. a couple days earlier, i bought about $40 worth of short ribs from the store. i spent a decent amount of time trimming all the fat off the ribs and preparing them for the 2-day process of making kalbi gim. i put them in the largest pot i have and set it on the counter. i must had started doing something else.... because 4 HOURS later, i remember that i forgot to put the pot in the refrigerator!!! *&#$%!! i left about 6 lbs. of raw meat out. i was so mad at myself! that was to be the main dish for ellie's dinner. :( well, ended up making other stuff and my aunts from st. louis sent some food with my mom.. so not the end of the world. so the day comes and it was going great so far... picked up ellie's cake, my family and i and the girls went to the mall...got some boots for addison and had lunch. we made it back home for naps. but then at arond 3pm, ellie started getting really fussy... and i mean REALLY fussy. she was crying nonstop and screaming. i couldn't figure out why she was this fussy? i hadn't seen this sort of crying outburst since her early days when she used to fuss in the evenings. she ended up screaming pretty much the rest of the day! she occasionally calmed down, but it would only be for a brief moment. she didn't even get to sit with us during the dinner or really be a part of her 100th day celebration. my family was surprised at how loud ellie could get! for such a little body, she's got a big voice! i couldn't do everything i wanted to do... like help more with the cooking or take more photos since i was trying to soothe her the whole time. you know, the funny thing though is that during addison's 100th day party 4 years ago, addison did the exact same thing. she cried most of the evening too. maybe it's some rite of passage i didn't know about... cry with fury on your 100th day! ;)

but here are what we could get of her in between her crying spells...

the girls in the cute outfits that their grandma from korea sent!

you would never know it by looking at this picture of her looking oh-so peaceful...but she is about to scream like crazy after i hit "click" on my camera! too bad we didn't get it all on video. hehe

i didn't get a photo of ellie in all her fury. but here is addison during her 100th day party. looking the same way....not happy!

boo hoo!

at last, ellie finally fell asleep in her swing. since we weren't able to take a photo with her and the food and cake, we at least brought the cake to her...

happy 100th day, ellie!!

Awww... poor Ellie. I wonder why she was so upset. Maybe all the people in the house? She looked cute anyway. :P

The pic of you holding the cake next to her while she's sleeping is priceless. Happy 100th Ellie!
